Monday - Anfield Tour and Man C. training

The rest of this week I will try to do this in English, so Andres's parents can read it as well.(Hope you read this, Marcella).

Monday:

Stadium tour
Today the group went to Anfield Road, the great historical stadium of Liverpool FC. This was and amazing experience, especially for an LFC supporter as me. I have never been to this stadium, but have always wanted to do this. We went to the players dressing room, both the home and away teams.
The home teams room was much more nice and the atmosphere her, seems to be more concentrated as the room was smaller than the always teams. We walked down the famous stairs into the stadium and passing the sign, “This is Anfield”, which most players, from Liverpool touch, on their way to the pitch. So did Chris and I as the pictures shows. We also went into the museum, where the five (5) Champions league trophy’s are.

Outside the stadium is a memorial for the Hilsbouogh tragedy and watching that, now 18 years after, and still with fresh flowers under, was quite a emotional experience. For those of you that do not remember this tragedy, 96 Liverpool supporter lost their lives under the semi final between Liverpool and Nottingham F. A tragedy, that involves almost all people that live in Liverpool. Steven Gerard lost his cousin that day and hi always look at the monument every time he arrives to Anfield.

First Training with Manchester city and Eric Steele
After the stadium tour, the group travel to Manchester City’s training ground to meet Eric Steele and the PL goalkeepers, Joe Hart and Isakson. Kasper Schemeichel was not there as he had extended hjis loan with Cardif and they had a match tonight.
One of the keepers, a 21 years old Aussie, trained with the pros for 45 min. After that Eric coached the group and they had a 2-hour session with him.

I think all of the had a fantastic day and they all learned a lot. Some of them was impressed with it and they was probably a bit nervous. However, I think they all did well and when we are going there tomorrow, their nerves might be gone.

Christoffer and Andres did very well, but they can both improve tomorrow, hopefully without any nerves to interfere with their performance. Chris wasn’t satisfied with his own performance and I think he sometimes don’t’ understand all of what the coach said. But he will be back, he said.

Stay tuned as they are training every day this week with, Man C., LFC, Everton and Crewe.
